I think worse than people complaining about spending two million dollars on funding for NASA to land Curiosity on Mars (which, by the way, is the amount we spend on the military every two or three days in this country) are the people saying it isn’t that big a deal because we’ve done it before.
Oh. I’m sorry. Does interplanetary travel not amaze you? Does it not amaze you that nothing went wrong in sending and landing Curiosity on the surface of a planet that not a single person has been? Even though there were a million things that could have gone wrong, from tiny little things to giant huge things that would have screwed up the entire mission.
If you are not excited about the fact that we safely landed Curiosity on Mars, then I do not believe you are adequately amazed with the universe - and I do not know how to help you, sorry.
